Update From the MouseFest Chairman
==========================================

MouseFest 2008 is just about six months away! Can you believe it?

Folks have been wondering, "Just when will we know about the MouseFest Park of the Day for 2008, so we can make our ADRs (Advance Dining Reservations)?" Considering that we're nearly upon the magical 180 day mark (it's currently 181 days until the MouseFest Cruise sets sail on December 7, and 185 until MouseFest Land events begin on December 11, 2008), now is a better time than later.

PARK OF THE DAY SCHEDULE
Based upon last year's success, we've decided to repeat the same schedule as last year:

Thursday 12/11/2008: Magic Kingdom (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is optional in the evening)
Friday 12/12/2008: Disney's Animal Kingdom/Disney's Hollywood Studios
Saturday 12/13/2008: Mega Mouse Meet/Epcot
Sunday 12/14/2008: Magic Kingdom (Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is optional in the evening)
Monday 12/15/2008: Disney's Hollywood Studios/Epcot

For the "split days" (Friday and Monday), activities will start in one park and transition to the other. There will probably be simultaneous/overlapping events in both parks during the early afternoon on those days, so if you want to make lunchtime Advance Dining Reservations, choose your preferred park and restaurant now, rather than wait until the final event schedule has been posted (sometime in October).

MouseFest dates for 2008: Cruise - 12/7-12/11/2008 Walt Disney World 12/11-12/15/2008

MOUSEFEST EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Planning for MouseFest is most certainly underway. To assist in planning this ever-growing event, we've formed a new MouseFest Executive Committee to help streamline decision-making and share some of the "heavy lifting." (All participating communities/celebrities/businesses have representation on the larger Organizing Committee.)

The Executive Committee consists of:

Dave Marx - Co-founder and Chair
Jennifer Marx - Co-Founder and Cruise Co-Chair
Deb Wills - Co-Founder and Cruise Co-Chair
Fred Block
Mark Goldhaber
Lou Mongello
Mike Scopa

I'd like to thank everyone on the Executive Committee for taking on the added responsibility!

MOUSEFEST WEB SITE
As always, http://www.MouseFest.org is the official website of MouseFest. Please visit often for updated information and schedules as we count down to MouseFest. (Site updates reflecting announcements in this newsletter will be made within the next few days -- please bear with us!)

MOUSEFEST REGISTRATION
Last year's registration system succeeded beyond our expectations! I'd like to thank the more than 800 of you who voluntarily registered, helped underwrite MouseFest's expenses, and received loads of useful benefits in return. We're working on this year's budget now, and once we know the costs, we'll open registration for this year.

We are also looking into additional registration options for this year. For example, while we're not sure we can make it happen, we're trying to get a discounted rate on Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. If we get a discount, don't expect it to be big (or even medium-sized), but every little bit helps, right?

MOUSEFEST COMMUNITY/CELEBRITY/BUSINESS PARTICIPATION
We expect to have this year's participation program put together by mid-July, as we did last year. We'll be contacting all of last year's participants directly, as well as everyone who expresses an interest in coming on board for this year. If you'd like to be added to the list of potential community/celebrity/business participants, please contact Dave Marx at dave@passporter.com

MOUSEFEST UNDERWRITING SUPPORT AND VISIBILITY OPPORTUNITIES
As always, we'll have a variety of ways that organizations and individuals can help underwrite MouseFest's costs and get some added visibility along the way. Everyone on the community/celebrity/business list will receive information about these offerings. Contact Dave Marx at dave@passporter.com to be added to that list.
