2006: July Newsletter ========================================== Welcome
to the MouseFest Newsletter, an e-newsletter for everyone ========================================== In This Newsletter:
Letter from the MouseFest Founders ========================================== Wow! It's already the middle of summer and just over five months to MouseFest! So much to do, so little time... First, we are pleased that you'll be joining us. (You are coming aren't you?) MouseFest will be better than ever -- there are more communities participating, more authors and webmasters attending, and once again we're going to have a whole lot of space for everyone at Saturday's big event, the Mega Mouse Meet. Our website http://www.MouseFest.org is where you'll find the most up-to-date listing of who's attending and what's happening. You can even add your own name to the list of who's coming! Veterans of MouseFest will be seeing a lot of familiar faces - many communities, authors, webmasters and podcasters will be back from last year. To see the current list of Who's Coming, visit http://www.mousefest.org/06attend.htm For news on events and attendees, keep visiting http://www.MouseFest.org, and keep your eyes open for next month's edition of this newsletter! Whether you're coming by land (so far, we've got events from December 7 through December 11), by sea on the Disney Wonder (December 3 - 7) or both... we'll see you there! The MouseFest Founders Dave and Jennifer Marx and Deb Wills ========================================== ========================================== * Over 800 Disney fans have registered for MouseFest 2006 * Attendees will be visiting from 5 different countries: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, and Japan. * 43 U.S. states will be represented at the MouseFestivities! * 7 communities and 5 authors have already signed up to participate in this year's event, many more are expected! * 19 meets are currently on the MouseFest Land Calendar and more are added weekly * There are designated cruise/parks for each day: December 3-7 (Sunday thru Thursday Morning) MouseFesters set sail on the Disney Wonder. Thursday join us in the Magic Kingdom, Friday morning at Animal Kingdom and in the afternoon and evening we move to the Disney-MGM Studios, Saturday is Epcot and MegaMouseMeet day, Sunday we are back in the Magic Kingdom and on Monday we return to the Disney-MGM Studios. ========================================== ========================================== The MouseFest cruise is once again shaping up to be a grand adventure at sea. 140 sailors are already registered! Almost every cruise event on the schedule is open to ALL MouseFest attendees no matter how you booked your trip. Last year's Door Decorating Contest was so popular that we are doing it again! Decorate your metal stateroom door, incorporate MouseFest in the design, and register to enter our decorating contest! Deb and Jennifer will cruise the hallways and judge doors based on creativity, originality, and your ability to use MouseFest in your decor. Prizes to be announced. Once again MouseFest Navigators will be delivered to your cabin each evening to give you a special look at the next day's events and fun. We've got some old favorite events scheduled like our Port Canaveral Meet and Greet, Bon Voyage Sail Away Party, Dave's Round Nassau Walking Tour, Lounging Before Dinner and Steve's Hidden Mickey's Tour. New events for 2006 include Cove Cafe Coffee Talk with Deb and Steve and Playdate Sandcastle Building on Castaway Cay with the Marxes We've also got a few more ideas in the works we know you'll enjoy! For a full listing of MouseFest Cruise events visit: http://www.mousefest.org/06cruise.htm If you are cruising with us and would like to host an event, simply fill out the form at: http://www.mousefest.org/meethostsignup.htm Someone from the MouseFest Organizing Committee will be in touch with you. Here's just sampling of what is planned.... We kick off the Land portion of MouseFest December 7th in the Magic Kingdom with a MousePlanet Dole Whip meet followed by fun at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party with the 3rd annual Fireworks meet hosted by AllEarsNet.com and Tagrel.com communities! Animal Kingdom Day, Friday December 8th, begins with the 6th Annual Kilimanjaro Safari Meet which draws a large crowd. This year the meet is beginning at 9:30 to allow Yeti Seekers to get a Fast Pass for Expedition Everest and then head over to join everyone on the Safari. New this year is a special gathering of Disney Podcasters! Hosted by MouseTunes Podcast, many podcasters are expected to attend. After the MegaMouseMeet on Saturday, once again hosted by the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort, there will be Snacking and Moussee-ing in World Showcase! Sunday you can play trivia with DisneyWorldTrivia.com and Lou Mongello. On Monday, The Mouse for Less hosts a visit to Give Kids the World Village for a heartwarming meet off Disney property.
